Late summer and autumn offer some beautiful flower varieties that impress with their strong colors. And of course autumn bloomers also make a wonderful gift or souvenir. For example, if you are invited to a birthday party, you can give joy with a flowering potted plant.

#DIYYearChallenge 2023
Lisa and I are taking on a creative challenge once a month for a year – the #DIYYEARChallenge. We independently implement a DIY based on a given topic and with the support of a sponsor. Monthly theme September: Green thumb
We are very pleased that we were able to get Brother excited about our challenge again, because with the many different options that the P-Touch CUBE Plus offers, it fits perfectly with the challenge and the monthly theme. For the green thumb theme, I designed beautiful and simple packaging for flower pots to give away. I used the P-Touch CUBE Plus labeling device to label the decorative bows that were used to tie the paper cuff together. Such packaging is suitable for many different celebrations, because the ribbons can be labeled with different congratulations and individually using the printer. Before you find out more about the P-touch CUBE Plus labeling machine from Brother, I will now show you the simple instructions for creatively packaging a flower pot. Let’s go:
Ingredients
- Labeling machine P-touch CUBE Plus from Brother
- Tape cassette 12 mm
- Flower pot with plant
- Packpapier
- Scissors
- Tape
- Permanentmarker
Instructions
The first step is to cut a square out of the wrapping paper – the size depends on the size of the pot. If you place the pot in the middle of the paper, the edges should be 3-4 cm away from the pot.
Now use the permanent marker in a color of your choice to paint a teardrop pattern on all four corners of the wrapping paper.
Then place the flower pot in the middle of the wrapping paper (with the painted side down).
Turn the corner of the paper towards you and fold it up. Then fold up the two corners on the left and right.
Now the overlapping wings are folded over the front corner and secured with tape – repeat the same with the back corner and secure everything with tape.
In the next step, insert a tape cassette (12 mm) into the P-touch CUBE Plus labeling device.
Design the ribbons using the app. To do this, click on “Create your own label” and then select the label color, font and desired symbols.
If you are happy with the result, you can click Print. The P-touch CUBE Plus now prints the tape.
When the label comes out of the printer printed, it is tied around the paper sleeve of the flower pot – done!
Get creative with Brother

If you prefer to work on a computer, you can use the P-touch Editor software and then print on lettering and textile ribbons.
