Apple and orange jam with marzipan for Christmas
Making jam yourself is nothing unusual, even if it is always a good gift idea that almost everyone is happy about. But have you ever eaten apple and orange jam? Not me personally, last year I made a tangerine jam that was also very delicious. This jam, on the other hand, is cooked with 3:1 preserving sugar and is therefore a little less sweet, but no less delicious! I love them and am excited to give them as gifts this Christmas!

Ingredients
- Sterile jam jars
- 800 g apples (peeled and cored)
- 500 g oranges (peeled)
- 100 g Marzipan-Rohmasse
- 4 drops of bitter almond flavor
- 1 point 3:1 preserving sugar
Instructions
Wash, peel, quarter, core and finely dice apples. You should then weigh around 800 g.
Peel the oranges, removing the white skin. Cut the fruit fillets into small pieces so that you can weigh around 500 g.
Cut the raw marzipan mixture into small cubes.
The prepared fruits, the marzipan and the bitter almond flavor are mixed well with the preserving sugar in a saucepan.
Everything is mixed thoroughly and left to stand for 15 minutes. Then the measurements are roughly pureed with a stand mixer (depending on your taste).
Then slowly bring the mixture to the boil and simmer for about four minutes.
Pour into sterilized jars immediately while still hot.
Seal the jars immediately and turn them upside down for about 10 to 15 minutes to remove the air between the lid and the mixture. This ensures an airtight seal and extends the shelf life of the jam.
Make your own jam as a gift idea
And you’re done with this really quick and easy kitchen gift idea. You can actually only partially say jam here, as it is made from, among other things, a citrus fruit, but also with apple and marzipan. Strictly speaking, only this type of fruit falls under jam. The rest is jam. So it’s a jam jam now? However, that doesn’t actually matter. The main thing is that it tastes good!
