Today I have another very simple sheet cake recipe for you: quick to make, simple, made from basic ingredients and super tasty! A simple apple sheet cake!
Simple apple sheet cake – quick autumn recipe with apples – simple sponge cake
This apple sheet cake is perfect for a small autumn picnic because it can also be eaten by hand. It also lasts for a few days. I actually always have the simple basic ingredients at home. You can leave out the vanilla extract entirely if you don’t have any on hand.
Simple apple sheet cake – this is what you need
The quantity is enough for a standard tray. Tip about the apples: You can adjust the amount of apples as you like, depending on how many you have. Please note that the baking time will also change slightly. If you use fewer apples, the cake will be ready sooner, otherwise it will be ready later.
- Approximately 1 kilogram of apples
- 250 grams of sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar (plus optionally some vanilla extract)
- 200 Gramm Butter
- 5 Owner
- 350 grams of flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- Cinnamon-sugar mixture for sprinkling
- Powdered sugar for serving
Simple apple sheet cake – this is how it’s made – recipe
Step 1 – Peel apples
The first step is to peel the apples and cut them into rough cubes. My children helped me with this – so cutting very roughly is enough! Then you can preheat the oven to around 200 degrees.
Step 2 – Mix the dough
To make the dough, first mix the butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar. Then add the eggs one at a time and mix them well. Then follow flour, baking powder and salt and the batter is ready.
Step 3 – Bake apple sheet cake
Spread the dough onto a greased baking tray. Then distribute the apple cubes on top. Sprinkle everything with a layer of cinnamon sugar and then bake the cake in the oven for about 35 minutes. Allow to cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
Enjoy it,
Jutta
