This post contains advertising for TrodatThere is a birthday with you and you just don’t know what to give away? With this creative idea for a gift box, you can very effectively give away a banknote or voucher.
Do you know that? Do you have a small gift, but not a nice packaging? Or you don’t want to give away the money in an envelope again? Then this idea is just right for you! The best thing about it: it can be individually with the Stamp creative mini* Design from Trodat. This makes it something very special and is still simply implemented. In this article I explain to you how you can simply do the box with a pull mechanism yourself. The idea was created as part of the #diyyeanarchaallenge 2025.
DIY idea for money gift or voucher packaging
Lisa from meinfeenstaub.com and I took a craft idea for the topic of “Klein but Oho” for the third month this year. Because we are sure to look for small gifts for different occasions and these should be tastefully packed so that the joy of giving away gets even greater.
Vouchers and money are often the best choice – especially if you are not sure what the or the recipient really wants. But every time the same question arises: How can the gift pack you as beautifully as possible? A simple envelope quickly looks impersonal and free of ideas, and a standard gift packaging usually doesn’t fit properly. You want that the gift looks particularly beautiful and shows that you have thought. That is exactly why I love to make creative gift boxes! They are not only a pretty packaging idea, they also make the gift a small highlight. And the best? With the creative mini stamps from Trodat, each contain 12 stamp motifs for different occasions, you can make your packaging even more individual, loving and funny! Whether sweet congratulations or playful patterns – with the stamps, your gift box gets the last creative cut. And because she is guaranteed to become an eye -catcher, she also fit our challenge. For everyone who now has a few question marks and imagine “What kind of challenge?” – no problem. I have summarized the most important points of the challenge for you.

#DIYYearChallenge 2025
Lisa and I face a creative challenge for a year a month – the #diyyean areater. We implement a DIY on a given topic and with the support of a sponsor. With the materials of the sponsor, we become creative and publish our results on our blogs and social media channels. Our followers can win great prices of the sponsor by voting on the favorite under the Instagram post.
Monatst topic March: small but Oho
We are particularly pleased that we were able to win Trodat with your range of stamps and accessories in March as a partner for our challenge. Because the many different motifs of the creative minis are not only pretty, but also perfect for implementing many creative DIY’s. Be sure to take a look at how Lisa interpreted the topic.
Instructions
Cut two slots (1 cm from the edge) from a single -colored 9.5 cm x 5.5 cm paper.
Now cut out a strip of 15 cm out of the baking paper.
Put the strip out of baking paper into the slots and glue it with craft glue from behind.
The glue is now moved to the top to the slot.
Apply the tinker glue to the top of the glue point and stick the piece of paper with the candles.
Now turn the paper once and apply some craft glue at the bottom and glue a 4.5 x 5.5 cm piece of paper.
Choose two sayings from the trodat and stamp on these pieces of paper.
The power paper is cut out to the same dimensions as the matchbox.
A three -story cake and candles are cut out and glued together from motif paper and white paper.
The candles are also glued to a piece of 3.5 x 3 cm paper.
Stamp a saying from the trodate for the cover and stamp on a piece of white paper with the enclosed stamp cushion. Then cut out. The cake and the lettering are glued to the power paper.
Now everything is put together. First spread foam pads on the sides and then glue the sliding level with the candles there.
Then spread pads on this level and glue the cover on top.
Finally, only fill the matchbox. For example with filling material and a banknote. A saying that was stamped with the trodat minis can also be knotted with a little yarn.
The gift packaging is ready!
