The youngest came here one day and asked if I could bake a chocolate cake. It had already been a while since I last baked something, so of course I happily started baking a cake. A check of the cupboards revealed that dark chocolate and vanilla powder were available, which are the “secret” of this cake.
The cake itself is wonderfully simple to make. Dry and wet ingredients are just mixed together. No fat melting, because cooking oil is used for this. Of course, if you don’t have cooking oil, use either butter or margarine. You should let the cake cool down well before you start cutting it in half or spreading the fillings. And if you’re making a cake for, say, a party, you can make the cake perfectly the day before. Then store the cake in the refrigerator, under the cake dome.
The cake is the so-called naked cake and can be quite scruffy looking. So, this cake can definitely be done by everyone, because it doesn’t require a little tinkering like many other filled cakes.
Tip!
You can also add jam to the split cake if you want, e.g. apricot jam goes wonderfully with chocolate. And if you want, you can also change the dark chocolate to milk chocolate, for example. You can also use, for example, Daim groats for decoration.
