Do you sometimes feel like your home is too boring and could use a splash of color? Then I have a simple project for you today that is not difficult to implement and will still bring a breath of fresh air and some color into your apartment or house. Lignocolor* with their chalk paints and together we quickly built a small chest of drawers out of two bread boxes, for example for the bedroom as a bedside table or in the hallway. It offers a lot of storage space and is still compact! You can store small things in it that haven’t found a place yet or that you need in exactly this corner. In this blog post I explain to you step by step how I built my new chest of drawers out of two bread boxes and how you can easily copy my DIY.

Small chest of drawers made from a bread box as a splash of colour for the apartment

So that you feel inspired to bring a little more color into your home, Lisa from meinfeenstaub.com and I have come up with the topic “splash of color!” for the #DIYYearChallenge. Maybe you can give an old, worn-out piece of furniture a new coat of paint? For the month of August, we were able to get our new partner Lignocolor excited about the topic and they supported us with various chalk paints in pastel shades. For anyone who still has a few questions: What kind of challenge? I’ll explain it again here.

#DIYYearChallenge 2024

Lisa and I are taking on a creative challenge once a month for a year – the #DIYYEARChallenge. On a given topic and with the support of a sponsor, we independently create a DIY project. We get creative with the sponsor’s materials and publish our results on our blogs and social media channels. Our followers can win great prizes from the sponsor by voting for their favorite under the Instagram post.

A special inspiration set from Lignocolor was used, which I would like to tell you more about below. Now you will find out how I implemented my DIY idea step by step. Be sure to take a look at how Lisa interpreted the theme.
