I go on to the #diyyeanarchallenge, which I organize every month with Laura from Trytrytry! Today is the topic „Ostergruss“ – So we show creative ideas with which you can make a little pleasure for Easter. Whether souvenir for the Easter brunch, a small gift for the family or simply as a colorful spring greeting in between – the main thing is loving and homemade.

Our monthly sponsor for the #diyyeanarchaallenge is POSCA this time. POSCA is a water-based acrylic marker that is suitable for many different surfaces-it is the perfect DIY companion, because you can give the finishing touch with the POSCA markers. I am a big Posca fan and I like to use the markers, because they are super opaque and there is a great color selection.

Suitable for the topic “Easter greeting” I have little ones Easter egg candlestick Made-cast out of casting mass, painted with the Posca markers in happy patterns. The Easter egg candlesticks are perfect as a small Easter surprise for favorite people-either as a table decoration or to give away with a small card. Made quickly, but with a lot of heart.

For my little Easter greeting I poured Easter eggs out of watering and painted them happily with Posca markers. Then I glued candle holders into the eggs and draped some moss – the casting holder is ready.

The colorful patterns immediately put you in a good mood and bring color to the Easter table. The small candle holders are made quickly and can be designed individually with bright colors and different patterns.

The POSCA markers are real all-rounders: POSCA is a water-based acrylic marker that you can use for all possible surfaces and projects. The POSCA markers are really nicely opaque on (e.g.) glass, wood, metal, stone, paper, fabric and much more materials. For my project, I got creative on water and wood and that worked excellently.

The 66 bright colors are opaque, matt and lightfast. There are also a lot of design options thanks to the 9 different, high -quality tips made of acrylic or plastic.

I am a big Posca fan and I am always happy when I can get creative with the markers.

About the Diyyeanarchallenge

Every month, Laura von Trytrytry and Lisa von Meinfeen dust with the #diyyEARACHALLESGE stand on a new DIY challenge on a given topic. Our monthly sponsor sends us the same material-and each one can come up with a DIY idea from the same material-the community then coordinates who wins and has better implemented the topic!

Every month you can win the DIY package with which we were creative by voting on Instagram who won. It is very worth a look at Instagram, because today there is a great winning package to win!

There you will always find our ideas as a DIY video.

As you can see, we both implemented very different projects with the Posca markers. I particularly love that: that the markers are suitable for soo many different projects.

Now I will show you how to make the Easter eggs from cast mass yourself-they are made easy and quick, and last minute before Easter it is still good.

This is how it works: Make a colorful Easter egg candle holder out of casting mass yourself

Step 1: Mix the casting mass and pour

Stir your casting mass according to the package instructions and fill them into a silicone shape in an egg shape. Then have it hardened – depending on the mass, it takes different lengths.

After watering you remove the silicone shape and let the cast egg harden again before you paint it – preferably overnight.

Step 2: Paint eggs with Posca

Now it’s getting creative! As soon as the eggs are fully hardened, you can paint them with the Posca markers as you please.

Caromuster:

With a fine POSCA marker you can easily paint a caroma pattern. Don’t worry – the pattern does not have to look even. It even looks particularly good when your caroma is deliberately “unclean” – that looks playful. As an optical end, you can then paint the edge of the ice surface.

Sprenkel effect:

For a really cool sprenical effect, you pump the POSCA marker well until the tip is soaked with color. Then you hold the tip close to the egg and pour vigorously through a straw or use a compressed air spray – so small paint splashes are specifically distributed on the surface. The result is really nice.

Width stripes:

With a marker with a wide tip (e.g. PC-8K) you can paint simple block strips-I chose vertical stripes, but also horizontal stripes look great.

Step 3: decorate the wood elements

The POSCA markers are also wonderful for wood. I painted small Easter bunnies with a wooden clip-these are later clamped onto the egg.

I made a delicate color gradient in pastel by first painting the bottom of the bunny in yellow, and then the upper half in pink. Then I went over the middle with the markers until the colors mix. After the course is dry, you can paint a rabbit pusher tail with a Posca marker in white.

Step 4: Glue the candle holder

Glue the candle holder with super glue in the middle of the ice cream, done!

If you want, you can now decorate the candle holder with some moss. I think the contrast from the natural moss and the graphic patterns of the eggs looks really good.

Your DIY Easter gift or souvenir for the next Easter brunch is ready. I think it’s so nice that the three copies of the candle holder look very different, although I always used the same shape. It was so much fun to paint the eggs with the Posca markers.
