Today I was a guest at the ARD buffet again – and I had a really fancy idea that you can use as a Christmas decoration and as gift packaging: disco Christmas balls in which you can give away a voucher or even money.
The Christmas balls consist of two acrylic balls. This means you can open the balls and place a small gift inside.
Of course, you can also simply implement it as a decoration idea and not use it as gift packaging. Either way – it looks super fancy!

In the first step, part of the inside of the two acrylic hemispheres is painted with acrylic paint. Optionally, a pattern can be painted on it after it has dried.
Now the acrylic hemisphere, which was painted on the inside, is covered with mini mirror tiles on the outside. The best way to do this is to start in the middle of the sphere and work your way up and down until the entire hemisphere is covered.
Step 2:
Then three mini Christmas trees are shortened with scissors so that they fit well into the ball from the inside. The three trees are then glued into the ball with hot glue.
Tipp: If the ball is used as packaging for a monetary gift or a voucher, you can now place a small voucher or a folded/rolled banknote inside.
Step 3:
Next, put the two acrylic balls together – the half that was covered with mirror tiles and the “blanco” half.
Now all that’s missing is a pretty ribbon that is threaded through the hole and tied into a bow. The very special Christmas ball is ready.
Doesn’t that look really nice? I think the effect that the ball is only half covered with mosaic tiles is so beautiful!
