This is once again an Ikea hack for the Brimne chest of drawers, which I have transformed into a chic piece of furniture.
Brimnes chest of drawers: From free find to the designer piece
Last year this chest of drawers suddenly stood away in the hallway! Of course I don’t miss a chance. Even if I didn’t know exactly how I wanted to redesign it at the time. Last year I redesigned the mopping chest of drawers and a lot of Rödby Matte at home that I used for another Ikea Hack. So I thought that you could implement it in large. So I missed the Brimnes chest of drawers a new look and thus the next Ikea Hack for you.
Instructions
Remove the drawers from the Brimnes and unscrew the handles.
Place the Rödby Matte on the drawer front for marking.
Cut the individual mats with a jigsaw
Glue the erected parts of the Rödby Matte on the fronts of the drawers with assembly adhesive.
A mat is not long enough for the entire drawer. Therefore, a remover must be cut out of the fourth mat. The fabric connection can be easily separated with scissors or a cutter knife. Also stick this last part onto the drawer front.
I would recommend gluing the mat piece by piece and always fixing with a clamp in between so that the mat is also taut and without a distance.
Screw the furniture handles from behind to the drawer.
Insert the drawers into the Brimnes chest of drawers and your IKEA Hack is ready!
