Filled mini croissants: super simple finger food for the brunch

Ingredients

  • 1 roll puff pastry (from the cooling shelf)
  • Nutella or other nut nougat cream
  • 1 egg yolk (for coating)
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C (top/bottom heat) and lay out a baking sheet with baking paper.

2

Roll out the puff pastry and halve them once. Now cut five cuts from top to bottom. The resulting rectangles are now still divided diagonally, so that 24 triangles are created.

3

Put 1 teaspoon of Nutella on the width of a triangle.

4

Roll up the triangles from the wide side to the top, so that mini croissants are created.

5

Whisk the egg yolk and brush the croissants with it.

6

Place the mini croissants on the baking sheet and bake for about 12-15 minutes until they are golden brown.

7

Dust with powdered sugar as desired and enjoy!

Tips for the perfect result

Alternatives to the filling: If you don’t like Nutella, you can also fill the croissants with jam, peanut butter or a cinnamon sugar mixture.

Enjoy fresh: The mini croissants taste fresh from the oven best, but you can also prepare them great the day before.

Get the puff pastry out of the fridge shortly before: Let the puff pastry rest a little before processing so that it can be easily cut and shaped.
