Vanilla-filled sugar buns are just as wonderful as they sound. The soft vanilla filling and the buns coated with plenty of sugar are simply irresistibly delicious! Few things are better than a bun fresh from the oven, or what you say!

These sugar buns are also filled with almond pulp, which gives the bun a particularly good and refined taste. See the pictures below for tips on how easily you can make these.

Vanilla-filled sugar buns

Ingredients

Bun dough

  • 200 g win
  • 5 dl milk
  • 1 dl sugar
  • 1 tl salt
  • 3 tl cardamom
  • 2 pss dry yeast
  • 12-15 dl wheat flour

Vanilla filling

  • 2 pcs yolk
  • 1 pcs the inside of a vanilla bean
  • 3/4 dl sugar
  • 1/2 dl wheat flour
  • 2 dl milk
  • 100 g almond paste

On

  • 1 dl melted butter
  • n. 2 dl sugar

Manufacturing

The vanilla filling is ready

  • Beat the yolks and sugar together. Split the vanilla pod and scoop out the inside. Add the pulp (the seeds of the vanilla pod) to the sugar-yolk mixture.

  • Add the wheat flour and mix.

  • Heat the milk in a saucepan. Pour the milk into the sugar-yolk mixture all the time while whisking briskly.

  • Now pour the mixture back into the pot. Heat on the stove and let it sit for a while until the mixture thickens. Stir at the same time. Then remove from the stove and transfer to a clean bowl. Allow to cool before adding the almond paste.

  • Grate the almond mass and add to the vanilla mixture.

Making bun dough

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan and then add the milk. Heat to 42 degrees.

  • Add sugar, salt and cardamom to the liquid (butter-milk melt).

  • Combine wheat flour and dry yeast. Add to the dough, starting well. Knead the dough into a firm and smooth ball. Let rise in a warm place until doubled, covered under a cloth.

Assembly

  • Roll out two rectangles of approximately 30 x 40 cm from the dough. Use a glass to mark the circles on the second plate where you will put the vanilla filling, but don’t press through yet.

  • Now put about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each circle. Place the second plate on top. Now press the appropriate point with the drinking glass so that the filling is in the center of each circle. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper to rise for 1/2 hour.

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

  • Bake the buns in the middle of the oven for about 10 minutes. Let cool for a while.
