We are almost halfway through our Advent calendars. It won’t be long before it’s Christmas! Do you have all your presents together yet? Maybe one or two things are still missing and you just don’t know what to give as a gift? Over the last few years I’ve noticed that you really like my gifts from the kitchen. This is a great way to give something personal, especially at Christmas time. Under the food gift category you will already find many recipes that I have put on the blog in the past.

Today I would like to show you another gift from the kitchen: speculoos truffles. Yes, they are as delicious as they sound. I always thought that truffles were really difficult to make and that you had to buy them in the store. But they are always very expensive there. At some point I found out that truffles are very easy to make. So if you know a few people with a sweet tooth who would be happy with this, you can now do it like this:

Gifts from the kitchen: Speculoos truffles

Ingredients

  • 100 ml Sahne
  • 300 g whole milk couverture
  • 50 g spiced speculoos
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

1

Grind the speculoos with a blender.

2

In the first step we heat the cream, but it should not boil.

3

Now we put the chocolate, broken into small pieces, into the cream and melt it while stirring constantly.

4

Add the cookie crumbs and salt to the chocolate and stir vigorously again. Chill for at least 2 hours. The mass should be completely solid later.

5

Pour the powdered sugar into a bowl or deep plate.

6

Take the chocolate mixture out of the fridge and gradually separate pieces from it. Then roll them into a ball and coat in the powdered sugar. It should be completely covered.

7

Either eat straight away or store in the fridge until ready to eat (only lasts a few days). Complete!

What did I say? It’s easier than you think, isn’t it? These gifts are my favorite: Totally easy to make, but the recipient will think you spent hours in the kitchen. If that wasn’t quite right, check out my other food gift ideas!
