Although painting and dyeing Easter eggs is of course a highlight of the preparations, there are many other projects that make the Easter table particularly beautiful and that the little ones are welcome to help with.

That’s how it’s done
The project may seem tricky, but apart from poking the holes for hanging, the children can help out a lot.
First you need 3 strips of craft paper per egg. They should be approximately 22 cm long and 1 cm wide. It’s best to cut them with a cutting machine.
Cutting machine for children:
Since my children discovered the cutting machine, they have been enthusiastic strip cutters. Help them measure the correct width. However, cutting machines with folding knives are unsuitable for children; those with blades and guide rails* are better. Still, always keep an eye on it when you’re working with it.
Now glue the first strip together at the end so that it forms an egg shape. Then place the second strip around the first and glue it to the top as well. Then you also glue the third strip on top. Position all three strips about 1/3 apart.
Poke a hole in the top and bottom with the sewing needle and thread baker’s twine through it to hang it at the top and knot small fringes at the bottom.
2. Table decoration for Easter: egg cups made of construction paper
Don’t you have enough of the same egg cups for all guests? No problem, just make Easter egg cups out of construction paper.
Material
- cutting machine
- Zigzag scissors
- A movie
- Pompoms
- Double-sided tape
Depending on the thickness of the construction paper, you can use single or double strips of construction paper. A strip is approx. 20 to 24 cm long and 4 cm wide.
Cut one edge of the strips with pinking shears.
Then put the strips together to form an egg cup and stick them together with scotch tape.
Stick a small pompom to the bottom of the egg cup with double-sided tape.
3. Table decoration for Easter: napkin rings made from toilet paper rolls
Material
- Toilet paper rolls
- Acrylics
- Paint brush
- Colorful construction paper
- Black fineliner
- Glue eyes
Paint the toilet paper rolls colorfully, cut out two ears from the construction paper and glue them to the inside. Draw a bunny face and glue the eyes on.
4. Make an Easter bunny vase out of toilet paper rolls
If you place a thin, tall shot glass in the middle of the bunny toilet paper roll, you can use it as a vase for the Easter table and place small spring flowers in it.
5. Make an Easter decoration planter
You wanted to quickly buy some beautiful spring flowers in a pot, but didn’t have a suitable planter? Simply make a planter out of construction paper.
Material
- Construction paper
- Watercolor or acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Felt-tip pens (black and orange)
- Cutting machine/scissors
- Zigzag scissors
- A movie
A super cute project to do with small children. Measure a light-colored strip of construction paper on your plant pot and cut it to size.
Use zigzag scissors to cut off the top edge of the strip in an angular, angular or wavy shape.
Print a series of yellow fingerprints on the paper and draw little chicks from them.
Glue the strip together and put it over the plant pot.
