It’s that time of year again when the gnomes begin their secret activities! In the coming weeks we will have the opportunity to discreetly set up an enchanting gnome door and matching gnome accessories and let a little gnome move into our houses. This magical little fellow will accompany the children in the run-up to Christmas and sweeten their anticipation of the holiday. In this post I would like to show you what my homemade Secret Santa door and the associated accessories look like and give you helpful tips on how you can easily buy similar accessories.
What are Secret Santa doors?
During the Christmas season, a tiny gnome moves into our home. His presence is recognized by the small gnome door that suddenly appears somewhere in the house. Sometimes a small construction site is set up at the site beforehand to announce the arrival. Behind this door is the home of the mysterious gnome. The door cannot be opened, and catching a glimpse of the gnome himself is impossible as he only appears at night when everyone is asleep.
Communication with the gnome takes place via a tiny mailbox in which we leave messages for each other. The gnome can give us tasks and thank us for our help. Occasionally he also shows his cheeky side and plays pranks on the children. This magical time can be a wonderful alternative to the traditional Advent calendar.
In my current video I show you how you can make this gnome door and gnome accessories.
