Over the last few days I’ve been showing you lots of ideas for what kind of food you could serve on Christmas Eve. I also showed you ideas for what you could give away as gifts. But I haven’t yet shown you what you could offer to drink. Okay, that’s not entirely true. Of course I put my mulled wine – which was very well received by you, thank you – online. However, the first questions immediately came as to whether this could also be done without alcohol.
Of course I also want to have something ready for people who want to avoid alcohol or are looking for recipes for children. That’s why I tried a second drink that was so delicious that we now drink it on Christmas Eve: apple punch! If this is also an idea for you, then you can copy it like this:
- 1 liter apple juice
- 250 ml orange juice
- 150 g cane sugar
- 3 fruit tea tea bags
- 500 ml water
- 6 cinnamon sticks
- 2 organic lemons
Boil 250 ml of water and let the tea bags steep in it (at least 10 minutes).
Bring another 250 ml of water to the boil with the sugar in the pot. Add the cinnamon sticks and sliced lemons and continue to simmer briefly.
Turn off the stove and pour all the juices and fruit tea into the pot. Keep warm, but do not boil anymore.
Garnish with ingredients such as cranberries, rosemary and cinnamon sticks before serving. Complete!
Admittedly, you can of course also do the whole thing with fresh apples. I just thought that you’re probably busy enough eating at Christmas and don’t have time to make an elaborate drink. So here is the simple version. I hope you’ll still enjoy it!
Your Christmas menu should actually be ready by now. Tomorrow I will put an overview of all my Christmas items online. You can also browse there again if necessary!
See you then. Your Laura
