Ingredients

  • 2 cups of corn flour
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Ingredients for the filling of your choice (for example, pressed pork rinds, cheese, picadillo, refried beans, etc.)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

How to make flour gorditas from scratch

  1. In a large bowl, mix the corn flour, salt and butter and mix well. Little by little, add the warm water, kneading until you obtain a soft and manageable dough.
  2. Divide the dough into small portions to form golf balls. Take one and place it between two sheets of plastic or waxed paper.
