Chocolate cake on a stick for children’s parties

The base is a really delicious chocolate cake, because it’s hard to go wrong with the kids’ taste. The cakes are then covered with colorful icings and chocolates and decorated with sprinkles. A nice activity in which you can also get your little baking helpers involved.

You can either bake the mini cakes on a baking tray and then cut them out with a knife or bake them individually in a baking tray designed for small cakes. The advantage of the baking tray is that you have fewer crumbs and crumbling ends and the pieces therefore often have a slightly prettier shape.

You can find a baking tray for mini cakes here on Amazon, for example.

To decorate, I used pink chocolate drops, classic chocolate couverture and white icing.

Ingredients for chocolate cake on a stick for children’s parties

  • 250 g Butter
  • 250g dark chocolate
  • 5 Owner
  • 80g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150g flour
  • Ā½ packet of baking powder
  • 1 spoonful of baking cocoa

Glaze:

Besides that

This is how you bake the chocolate cake on a stick

Melt the butter with the chocolate in a saucepan.
Beat the eggs with the sugar and salt in a bowl until creamy. Once the chocolate mixture has melted, let it cool down a bit. Then you can stir them into the egg mixture. Now stir the flour, baking powder and baking cocoa into the dough.

Grease the molds and fill the dough up to a maximum of half in the molds, as it will still rise in the oven.

Bake the cakes for about 20 minutes at 175Ā°C.

Then let the cakes cool down.

Melt the chocolate or icing according to the instructions and pour it into a bowl that is high and wide enough for you to dip the cakes into.

Then dip the top of the mini cakes into the icing and place them on a cake rack. Sprinkle the cakes with sprinkles before the icing has become dry and hard.

Finally, stick the wooden sticks into the cakes and the cakes on a stick are ready.

If you wrap the cakes in a relatively airtight container with cling film or in a tin, they will stay delicious for a few days. I baked mine 2 days before the festival and they weren’t too dry.
