Chicken flautas recipe
Yield: 12 flutes
Preparation time: 1 hour
- 12 corn tortillas
- 2 chicken breasts cooked and shredded
- 1 small onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Sauce, sour cream, grated cheese, lettuce and tomato
How to make chicken flutes
- In a large frying pan, heat a little oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until golden. Add the shredded chicken and mix.
- Add the cumin, chili powder, black pepper and salt to taste, cook for a few minutes so that the flavors combine. Remove from heat and reserve.
- Heat the corn tortillas on a comal or in a frying pan for a few seconds. Place a portion of the mixture in the center of each tortilla and roll up so that they are tightly closed.
- In a large frying pan, heat enough vegetable oil to fry to 180°. Place the flautas in the oil until they are golden, crispy and fried evenly.
- Remove from the oil and place on absorbent paper to remove excess fat. Serve hot and accompanied with sauce, sour cream, grated cheese, lettuce and tomato, or favorite accompaniments.
