Superfood smoothie as a breakfast idea

It’s such a rich drink that it will fill you up all morning and makes a great breakfast.

Earlier this year I went through a 10 day fulltime detox program and found a super new morning routine for days when you need a lot of energy. A glass of hot lemon and a half-hour workout to wake up the circulation and muscles is followed by a cold shower and then the superfood smoothie.
In everyday life I don’t always manage this routine, but every Friday I start the day like this.
I sometimes prepare the smoothie first thing in the morning when the kids are having breakfast, and then drink it refreshed at my desk when I get out of the shower and get to work.

You need this for the superfood smoothie

  • 1 THE Chiasamen
  • 150 ml milk/almond milk/soy milk/your choice
  • ¼ to ½ Avocado
  • 100 g frozen berries or fruit (fresh is of course also possible. I love wild berries with lots of raspberries or passion fruit.)
  • 1 TL Mandelmus oder Tahin Sesampaste
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 THE HANFSAME
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
  • 2 Brazil nuts
  • 2 nuts of the Waal
  • Besides that
    A smoothie maker/blender

This is how you prepare the superfood smoothie

First let the chia seeds soak in a glass with 40 ml of water for 10 minutes. Do not put the chia seeds in the blender, this also helps with cleaning later.
Then add the other ingredients to the blender, starting with the milk. You can also thaw large frozen pieces first so that they blend better. Now blend everything together until you get a nice, smooth smoothie. Put the smoothie in a glass and finally add the chia seeds and stir them in with a spoon.
Enjoy your smoothie. It’s also a great on-the-go breakfast option. For example, I prepare it for a long train journey and then have a relaxed breakfast with a smoothie when I sit in my seat and the journey begins.
So that it doesn’t get boring, you can vary it with fruits, nuts, seeds and kernels. Just see which fruit is in season or find alternatives in the freezer.
